Federal court moves to unseal documents in Jeffrey Epstein scandal
Topic: Violence Against Women
Source: Miami Herald
A federal court of appeals in New York on Monday took the first step in unsealing documents that could reveal evidence of an international sex trafficking operation allegedly run by multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein and his former partner, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell. The three-judge panel for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit gave the parties until March 19 to establish good cause as to why they should remain sealed and, failing to do so, the summary judgment and supporting documents will be made public. The court reserved a ruling on the balance of the documents in the civil case, including discovery materials.

Feds Say Ohio Vice Cop Andrew Mitchell Abducted Women
Topic: Violence Against Women
Source: Reason
The Columbus, Ohio, police officer who fatally shot Donna Dalton last year has now been arrested by the FBI and indicted on federal charges. Vice cop Andrew Mitchell is accused of kidnapping women "under the guise of an arrest" and forcing victims "to engage in sex for their freedom," as the Columbus Division of Police put it. A seven-count indictment was returned by a federal grand jury last week and unsealed today, and federal agents picked up Mitchell this morning. The charges encompass activity beginning in July 2017.

Parent: My Son Was 'Humiliated' in Mock Slave Auction at School
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: USA Today
A homework assignment on slavery that left parents "flabbergasted," an apparent faux pas by Virginia's first lady on the same topic, and now another similar incident to add to the mix, this time out of Westchester County, NY. USA Today reports on an alleged social studies exercise at the private Chapel School in Bronxville that involved white fifth-graders "bidding" on African-American classmates who were "slaves." Vernex Harding, an educational administrator at a different Westchester school and the parent of one of the black boys in the class, tells PIX11 that her son said teacher Rebecca Antinozzi asked three black students in her class to go into the hall to "put imaginary chains along our necks and wrists, and shackles on our ankles." Those students then reportedly re-entered the class and were "bid on" by other students at a mock slave auction.

Kamala Harris Defends Abortion Up To Birth
Topic: Abortion
Source: The Daily Wire
The California Democrat said in an interview on Wednesday that she believes a woman has a right to choose abortion all the way up to the baby's birth. Her comments stand in line with the entire Democratic Party platform, which reared its ugly head this week when Senate Democrats successfully blocked the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. "I think it’s up to a woman to make that decision, and I will always stand by that," she told TheDCNF. "I think she needs to make that decision with her doctor, with her priest, with her spouse. I would leave that decision up to them."

YouTube Makes a Big Move Against Pedophiles
Topic: Children and Family
Source: Associated Press
Suspends comments on almost all videos that feature kids YouTube said Thursday it will turn off comments on nearly all videos featuring kids—potentially affecting millions of posts on the site—after reports last week that pedophiles were leaving inappropriate comments on innocuous videos of children. The change comes as YouTube grapples with moderating content across its platform as concerns about hate speech, violence, and conspiracy theories continue to plague it, the AP reports. It will take YouTube several months to disable comments on all videos featuring minors, the company said. It already started the process last week when it turned off comments from tens of millions of videos.

Cardinal's Lawyer Sorry for Referring to Rape as 'Vanilla'
Topic: Children and Family
Source: News.au
The defense lawyer for the man who was once the third highest-ranking official in the Catholic Church—and who's now awaiting sentencing for attacks on two 13-year-old choirboys in Australia—is apologizing for referring to the crimes as "plain" and "vanilla." The assaults by George Pell, then archbishop of Melbourne, after a Sunday mass in 1996 lasted "less than six minutes" and there was "no ejaculation," Robert Richter said in Victoria County Court Wednesday, adding the victims were "naughty boys" for consuming church wine in advance, per News.com.au. "This is no more than a plain, vanilla sexual penetration case where a child is not volunteering," Richter added in a clear description of rape, per the Australian Associated Press. Judge Peter Kidd countered that Pell's crimes were brutal and callous. The chief commissioner of Victoria police also took issue with the wording.

Model Who Exposed Elite Pedophile Ring
Topic: Violence Against Women
Source: The Free Thought Project
Last year, Natacha Jaitt, a model, socialite, TV presenter, and former contestant on the show Big Brother, came forward claiming she had evidence of a high level pedophile ring involving VIPs, politicians, movie stars, and other celebrities. The allegations led to a barrage of attacks against her—including death threats. And, this month, she was found dead in a nightclub, prompting calls of foul play by her family. [Ed: in Argentina.]

LGBTQ Groups Condemn Trump's Move To Decriminalize Homosexuality Worldwide
Topic: Gay/Lesbian Issues

Trump derangement syndrome has gone so far into overdrive that his detractors are now criticizing him even when he does something solely to their benefit. The LGBT pushback against his administration's policy to decriminalize homosexuality worldwide is perhaps the most puzzling example.

Prof: Use Black History Month To Rectify "Hegemonic Whiteness"
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: The College Fix
A sociology and health professor at Lehigh University says we all should make use of Black History Month to do something about that thing called “whiteness.” Sirry Alang (who perhaps should not have waited until the second-to-last day of the month to issue such a proclamation) says hegemonic whiteness is the metaphorical “wall” right here within the United States which prevents “full citizenship, [and] inhibits social and economic inclusion” of people of color. It also undermines their very humanity, she adds.

The Draft Should Be Abolished For Everyone - Not Just Women
Topic: Gender Discrimination
Source: Zero Hedge
On Friday, Federal Judge Gary Miller declared the federal government's policy of male-only conscription to be unconstitutional. Miller ruled that past prohibitions on women in combat may have legally justified the all-male policy, but since the military has integrated women into combat positions, the past policy can no longer be constitutionally justified.

Another Hate Hoax
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Breitbart
Michigan prosecutors say Nikki Joly, a longtime LGBT activist, set fire to her home and killed her pets due to resentment from subsiding controversy over the enactment of nondiscrimination legislation he advocated for. The Detroit News reported Monday that law enforcement charge Joly, a transgender man from Jackson, Michigan, burned down her own home, killing five pets inside, in what was initially investigated by the FBI as an alleged hate crime in 2017. The newspaper, citing two individuals who worked along Joly at St. Johns United Church of Christ, where the Jackson Pride Center is based from, reported that Jolly, 54, had become “frustrated the controversy over gay rights had died down with the passage of the nondiscrimination law.”

Why I invented Titania McGrath
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Spiked Online
Last April, I decided to set up a satirical account on Twitter under the guise of radical intersectionalist poet Titania McGrath. She’s a po-faced young activist who, in spite of her immense privilege, is convinced that she is oppressed. She’s not a direct parody of an existing individual, but anyone who regularly reads opinion columns in the Guardian will be familiar with the type. Given that such individuals are seemingly impervious to reason, and would rather cry ‘bigot’ than engage in serious debate, satire seemed to be the only option.

Yes, You Can Get Kicked Off Twitter for Saying 'Learn To Code'
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Reason
Chuck Ross, a reporter at The Daily Caller, was recently suspended from Twitter after making a "learn to code" meta joke—an incident that calls into question the company's earlier claims regarding the problematic quip. A few weeks ago, The Wrap's Jon Levine reported that a "person in the know" had told him tweeting "learn to code" at a laid-off journalist would be considered a violation of the platform's terms of service, and could result in a ban. Twitter swiftly clarified that the phrase "learn to code" itself would not be considered harassment unless directed at specific individuals as part of a targeted campaign. The company routinely takes action against such kinds of communication, whether or not they are insinuations that coding experience is a better path to financial stability than journalism.

Women’s Sports May One Day Soon Consist Entirely of Men
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Lew Rockwell
Already a Democratic party representative, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, is insisting that the US powerlifting tournaments allow transgender women to compete, so that people who look very much like Geoff Capes, and have the same chromosomes as Geoff Capes, and the same bone structure and musculature, can compete against women. Meanwhile, the fastest female college sprinter in the US is CeCe Telfer, who, once again, is not what you or I or science would call a lady, and one of the world champions in women’s cycling is a chap called Rachel McKinnon, whom I have mentioned here before.

The Monster Pell Has Been Caged At Last
Topic: Children and Family
Source: Caitlin Johnstone
Pell’s meteoric rise to the top of the Roman Catholic hierarchy was due in part to his ruthless management of rape and sexual abuse victims. He devised what came to be known as the Melbourne Response, which kept damage to the Church at a minimum by capping the payouts to $50,000 and later $75,000 and requiring victims to sign a silencing agreement. He saved the Church untold millions in compensation and incalculable damages in reputation. The Vatican took notice, and it was only a decade or so before he was tapped to manage the entire financial affairs of the Vatican under the lofty title of “Prefect of the Secretariat for the Economy”, making him the third most powerful priest, only two steps down from the Pope.

At Facebook, Google and many other tech companies...
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: FOX News
[Ed: ... the level of political intolerance is stunning] The tech giants of Silicon Valley, particularly Google and Facebook, have faced intense criticism in recent years for promoting partisan political agendas in the workplace. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey even admitted recently that conservative employees at his company “don't feel safe to express their opinions.”

Here's the "scoop": A sinister game called "The Momo Challenge" exists online. It involves a creepy woman's face popping up when children are watching cartoons on YouTube or playing video games or just messaging each other. Momo orders these children, as part of this game, to do harmful things to themselves, up to and including suicide. And yet there's not one piece of evidence that any of this happening. There's a brief clip of a video that shows the image of "Momo," which is actually a sculpture of a harpy by a Japanese special effects company. I was able to track this nonsense back to a story by U.K. tabloid Daily Star, which features a mom claiming "Momo" told her 5-year-old daughter to cut off her hair. This, apparently, is the most logical explanation to Mom as to why a 5-year-old girl would do something so silly as cut her own hair, something small children have been doing since scissors were invented (if not before).

The Corruption of the Vatican’s Gay Elite Has Been Exposed
Topic: Gay/Lesbian Issues
Source: New York Intelligencer
I spent much of this week reading and trying to absorb the new and devastating book by one Frédéric Martel on the gayness of the hierarchy at the top of the Catholic Church, In the Closet of the Vatican: Power, Homosexuality, Hypocrisy. It’s a bewildering and vast piece of reporting — Martel interviewed no fewer than “41 cardinals, 52 bishops and monsignori, 45 apostolic nuncios, secretaries of nunciatures or foreign ambassadors, 11 Swiss Guards and over 200 Catholic priests and seminarians.” He conducted more than 1,500 interviews over four years, is quite clear about his sources, and helps the reader weigh their credibility. He keeps the identity of many of the most egregiously hypocritical cardinals confidential, but is unsparing about the dead.

Left's Latest Demand: Race-Based Reparations
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Lew Rockwell
If slavery and segregation explain the disparity in wealth between black and white in the U.S., what explains the equally wide disparity in wealth between Hispanics and Asians? Politically, the party of slavery, secession and segregation was the party of Jefferson, Jackson, Clay, Calhoun, Wilson and FDR, who put a Klansman on the Supreme Court — the Democratic Party. It was the Republican Party that was formed to contain and end slavery, and did. One need not be a cynic to suspect Warren’s motivation. Her claim to be an American Indian angered Native Americans, and she would like to mollify them, and ingratiate herself with African-Americans, who constitute more than 60 percent of all Democratic voters in the crucial South Carolina Primary.
